A surprise visit

Shane's cousin Craig, who lives in Denver, was out in our neck of the woods for work and we were lucky to have him stop by the house to meet Simon and then go out for dinner. It was a fun visit and we were happy to have the chance to catch up with him.

Simon is such a busy little bee these days. Since discovering his new ability to scoot across the floor it seems that he has really started to thrive as a man on the move. The minute we set him down on the floor in the morning his is instantly crawling and squealing with excitement , this continues until he heads to bed at night. He has even been so excited that it seems he has lost interest in napping. The other day he had managed to sit himself up in the crib and after I heard him squealing I checked on him only to see him sitting up clapping and laughing in his crib. I only hope all the movement will catch up to his little bod and that he will eventually realize he is exhausted and fall back into his 3-4 hours of naps each day. For now we will settle for a super happy little guy that is eager to find out just how much he can get his hands on!

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. Yesterday we went fishing and spent a lot of time out in the nice weather. Today we went out for a late breakfast and headed to the park for some swing time. Hope all you moms had a nice Mother's Day.

army crawl

Simon had a big week. On Tuesday he started clapping his hands, Wednesday cut his first tooth, and Saturday started doing the Army Crawl! Baby-proofing the house can't happen soon enough.

Happy Easter

We had fun on our first Easter. Simon got lots of bright colored egg rattles and some fun toys from the Easter bunny.

Rolley was interested in the basket of goodies as well.

The morning nap started out a little rough...after about 5 minutes listening to Simon make some noise before falling asleep, I went in to check on him and was surprised to see that he had wiggled his legs through the crib slats...so much for the blanket trying to give the perception of enclosure.
Isn't Easter supposed to be sunny and bright? After waking up to about 10" of snow on the driveway, we had to explain to Simon that in Telluride the Easter bunny is a snow bunny.

Grandma Vicki came to visit on Easter.

seven month old Simon

Last night on Simon's seven month birthday he slept from 7pm to 7am, with no feeding or waking for more than a few little squeaks...what a blessing. Our sweet baby boy shows us his new fun abilities everyday. This week he has started to add buh, ba, and gguhjj to his vocab, which already includes da da da, and bbbbb (sorry for the spelling but it is the best I can do to spell out his funny little sounds). He has also started shaking his head back and forth as if he is nodding no, although I think he is trying to dance when he makes this action...he really thinks it is funny. Here is a month by month picture log of our sweetie.
